State Representative Bob Godfrey is a proven leader as Deputy Speaker Pro Tempore while on various important committees. He serves on the Board of Directors of APEX Community Care, which advocates for people with HIV/AIDS, mental health and substance abuse disorders. Bob was born in Danbury and has lived here all his life. He attended St. Peter School and Immaculate High School. Bob is an attorney with bachelor’s degree from Fordham University and holds a Juris Doctor degree from the UConn School of Law. In the past, Bob managed the family pet shop, served in the U.S. Naval Reserve, was an executive with the Greater Danbury Chamber of Commerce, and served for five years on Danbury’s City Council.

Created a child tax credit, property tax credit, and phase-out of income tax on pensions & social security including a property tax exemptions for disabled veterans
Fought to secure over $191 million in state funds to bring back home to Danbury and secured state aid for local projects, including the Community Health Center roof replacement, paving of Main and South Streets, and upgrades to the War Memorial
